NEPC Member Jason O’Toole read alongside Portsmouth Poet Laureate Lauren WB Vermette on Dec. 17 for Beat Night at the Press Room.

NEPC member Thomas DeFreitas’s poem “A Blessing for Kat” appeared in the latest issue of Nixes Mate Review, published Thanksgiving 2025. It is Thomas’s début appearance in Nixes Mate! Read the poem in this post or online here: https://loom.ly/biBGvWQ

NEPC Advisory Board member and Massachusetts State Inaugural Poet Laureate Regie Gibson read in person on Dec. 18 as a featured poet in the Open Mic series hosted by Vijaya Sundaram, Medford Poet Laureate at the Emerita at Arts Collaborative.

We announced a movie trailer produced by Olivia Huang! It featured Somerville and other area poets. Some of the movie was filmed on NEPC board member Doug Holder’s porch last summer. Lloyd Schwartz, former co-president of the New England Poet Club, Denise Provost, and others are in the movie. There are also scenes from the Summer series at the Longfellow House.
