Publications
Board member Stephen Honig recently published his new book, Burn-Out, an eclectic, intelligent poetry collection that explores the elements of modern life, relationships between men and women often gone awry, the pains of living in our curious and frightening times, the overlay of death, and concludes with an ode to Kierkegaard and the deconstruction of a will made by an illiterate yeoman in 1745 that serves as a counterpoint to the complexity and lack of clarity in today’s world.
Member Midge Goldberg edited a new anthology, called Outer Space: 100 Poems, published by Cambridge University Press. Poets and astronomers often ask the same questions. Where did we come from? Why are we here? Where are we going? Throughout human history, poetry has provided stories about what people observe in the sky. This collection reaches across time and cultures to illuminate how we think about outer space, and ourselves and includes New England Poetry Club poets and contest winners, including Golden Rose Award winner Rhina Espaillat, Alfred Nicol, A.M. Juster, and Robert Crawford.
