Carolyn Oliver is the author of Whale Garden (forthcoming from River River Books in 2027), The Alcestis Machine (Acre, 2024), and Inside the Storm I Want to Touch the Tremble, winner of the Agha Shahid Ali Prize (University of Utah Press, 2022). Her honors include the Goldstein Prize from Michigan Quarterly Review, the NEPC’s E. E. Cummings Prize, and Meridian’s Short Prose Prize. Born in Buffalo and raised in Ohio, Carolyn now lives in Massachusetts, where she was the first poet to serve as an artist-in-residence at Mount Auburn Cemetery.
