Congratulations to Sally Young of Dartmouth College, winner of The New England Poetry Club’s 2026 Victor Howes Prize in Poetry for undergraduates.
Sally Young is an English major with a Creative Writing concentration in poetry at Dartmouth College. She says of writing: “I’ve learned that the craft of poetry is not an easy one. The act of writing can be radical. We have to learn the rules in order to break them. In the end, I love how words, those simple marks on a page, can change one’s entire outlook on life.”
We are also happy to recognize the outstanding work of:
Finalists
- Evan Wang, Harvard University
- Clay Socas, Dartmouth College
Honorable Mentions
- Greer Engle-Roe, Bennington College
- Vanessa St. Pierre, University of Southern Maine
- Lilly Patton, Holy Cross College
