Poetry at the Manse: Linda Carney-Goodrich, Diana Cole, Gail Hanlon

5-25 Poetry Reading at the Old Manse

Please join us as we return to The Old Manse in Concord, Mass., for this free event! The
reading will be held under a tent outdoors, and the venue is accessible.

Linda Carney-Goodrich is a writer and teacher from Boston. Her first book of poetry,
Dot Girl (Nixes Mate Books, 2024) was a finalist for the New England Poetry Club's
Sheila Margaret Motton Prize. Her poems have been displayed at Boston City Hall and
have appeared in Lily Poetry Review, The MacGuffin, Literary Mama, Muddy River,
Anti-Heroin Chic, and Gyroscope Review, among others. Linda is the Poetry
Coordinator for the Menino Art Center in Hyde Park and owner of Home Scholars of
Boston.

Diana Cole, a Pushcart Prize nominee, has been published in over 60 poetry journals
including Poetry East, Spillway, Main Street Rag, Cider Press Review, The Public's
Radio 89.3, Friends Journal, Verse Daily, New Verse News, and Orison Books. For five
years she was editor for The Crosswinds Poetry Journal. In 2024 she was awarded
second place in the Notable Works Poetry Initiative in Rhode Island.  For various
galleries in Rhode Island she has organized Ekphrastic events where poets respond to
artworks. With her expertise in vocal coaching, she offers poetry workshops in Reading
Aloud to help poets use their voices to enhance the meaning and music of their poems
in readings. In 2018 her chapbook, Songs By Heart was published by Iris Press and her
full length book, Between Selves, was released in 2023 by Indian Press, Cyberwit.net.

Gail Hanlon’s poetry has appeared in The Kenyon Review, Ploughshares, Cincinnati
Review, CutbankOnline, The Iowa Review, Pittsburg Review, New Letters, Verse Daily,
and BEST AMERICAN POETRY, among other journals and anthologies. She has
published Silent Letter (Cornerstone 2023) and two chapbooks, and also edited Voicing
Power: Conversations with Visionary Women. Her work received the National Writer’s
Union Poetry Prize and has been shortlisted for the Iowa Review Award and CutBank’s
Patricia Goedicke Prize, and long-listed for Cutbank’s Chapbook Award, the Tomaž
Šalamun Prize at VERSE, and OSU’s The Journal Wheeler Prize, among others.
