Notable Works’ 2025 Poetry Contest

NEPC Member Noreen Inflesi wants everyone to know about the Notable Works’ 2025 Poetry Initiative/Contest.

Notable Works Publication and Distribution Co Inc. is a non-profit Arts organization founded in 2007 and dedicated to raising awareness for social and environmental issues through the Arts, while highlighting the efforts of the agencies which are having a positive impact in our communities.

The theme of this year’s Poetry Contest focuses on healing and bridging the divide that misinformation can create as it pertains to environmental and social concerns. Tina Cane, Poetry Laureate of Rhode Island (2016-2024) is this years’ final judge.

Prizes: First Place: $100.00, Second Place: $50.00 and Third Place: $25.00.
There will also be three honorable mentions.

All six winning poets will receive an award certificate signed by Tina Cane and have their poems published in the June 2025 issue of Notable Works’ monthly publication Notable Notes. Also, the six winning poets will be featured at a special event on May 3, 2025, in the auditorium at the William Hall Library in Cranston, RI. This event will also feature The Notable Works’ Ensemble performing songs from the new musical Sell Division: Breaking the Chains of Perception.

The top three winners will also be featured on the Cranston Public Library’s On the Line Program during National Poetry Month in April 2025.

The Submission Period will be January 1, 2025 – March 1, 2025
Reading Fee: $10 for the first poem, $5 for each additional poem (max. 4)
