This latest issue of Arrowsmith journal includes an excerpt from Mark Pawlak’s forthcoming memoir “My Deniversity: Knowing Denise Levertov” (MadHat Press fall 2021). In this excerpt, he recounts a time five decades ago, much like the Black Lives Matter movement today, when people took to the streets to protest war, state sponsored violence, and the status quo, and were met police billy clubs and tear gas.
